New Tower for Atlantic Edge Awarded to Stainless

When the largest tower owner in the world needed a heavy-duty tower they called Stainless LLC.  American Tower Corporation recently awarded Stainless LLC a new tower for the Atlantic edge of hurricane susceptible North Carolina.

The replacement tower for the outer banks region of North Carolina required the tower to be designed for a basic wind speed of 135 MPH while supporting a significant amount of equipment.

ATC specifications and the local building code requirements not only required the tower to be designed for a basic wind speed of 135 MPH (3-second gust) in accordance with ANSI/TIA 222-G but also for a basic wind speed of 115 MPH (fastest mile wind speed) in accordance with ANSI/TIA/EIA 222-E and 222-F.

Only Stainless LLC’s engineering expertise made it easy for the tower to meet this hybrid of design standards.
